Anchorage resident Adeline M. Roddick, 68, died July 6 at Providence Hospital. A funeral was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11th and E Chapel, with Melvin Nichols officiating. A graveside service was held at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Roddick was born Dec. 10, 1923, in Salt Lake City. She came to Alaska in 1953, and settled in Anchorage. She worked as a waitress at The Club bar and restaurant on Fourth Avenue for many years. Mrs. Roddick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Mrs. Roddick is survived by her son, James of Anchorage; her daughters, Charlotte Lahti and Donna Bowman, of Anchorage, Janet Workman of Canada, and Nancy Goodson of Wisconsin; her sisters, Margaret Miles and Irmgard McCune, both of California, and Karolla Green of Las Vegas; and her brother, Alex Mehner of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Alaska Kidney Foundation, 4201 Tudor Centre Drive, Anchorage 99508. Arrangements were by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
