Anchorage resident STEVEN CARL JOHNSON, 46, died of natural causes Nov. 29, 2002, at home. A graveside service with military honors was Friday at Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Mr. Johnson was born Oct. 3, 1956, in Fresno, Calif. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Kitty Hawk from 1974 to 1978 and was a Vietnam veteran. Mr. Johnson moved to Anchorage in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, auto mechanics, football, and his children's activities. Mr. Johnson's family wrote: ''Steve was a caring person that lived life on his own terms. He loved his children and was very proud of his military service.'' His parents, Nancy and Carl Johnson, preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson is survived by his sons, Noah Johnson of Fort Riley, Kan., and Zebulon Johnson of Anchorage; daughter, Sarah Johnson of Tucson, Ariz.; brother, David Johnson of Boise, Idaho; and sister, Wendy Mace of Salt Lake City. Arrangements were with Evergreen Memorial Chapel downtown.
