At his home, 12 East Barnard Street, at an early hour this morning, J. Evan Allen passed away. He had been in poor health for several years, and confined to his bed for the past two weeks.
Mr. Allen was born in Delaware, but had lived in West Chester for many years. He had been employed for 17 years at the Sharpless Separator Works, and had also been employed by the West Chester Street Railway Company.
He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lavina Roberts Allen, and two daughters, Florence, wife of William Day, Honey Brook, and Lottie, wife of Harry Miller, in Washington State. A granddaughter, Beatrice, wife of Leroy Hartshorne, lives at Rocky Hill. There are two grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at the chapel of Joseph B. Smith 7 Son on Thursday, the 26th inst., at 2 o'clock. Interment at Greenmount Cemetery. Friends may call at chapel Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock.
