Elmer Quinton Adair, 61, of St. Johns, died in Show Low Aug. 8, 2003.
Elmer was born in Ramah, Tennessee Aug. 5, 1942. He served six months active duty in the US Army and did a four year tour of duty in the US Air Force.
He was married to Jessie Mangum Adair for 29 years. After her passing, he married Beth Ann Adair Nov. 9, 2001 Elmer was employed with Salt River Project at the Coronado Generating Station. He loved writing poems and short stories and telling jokes and going fishing.
His church callings included several years as Scout Master with Troop 72 in St. Johns, Ward Clerk, Stake Clerk, Primary teacher and Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife; Beth Ann Adair, St. Johns, his sons; Troy Adair, Gilbert, Kyle Adair, Gilbert, Zachary Smith, Boston, Mass., daughters; Michelle Garcia, Concho, Renae Adair, Gilbert and Becky Waterson, Salt Lake City, Utah. Surviving him also are his sisters; Lorraine Laney, Glenna Reynolds, Lenna Minor, Mattie Stradling, Hallie Pearce and Virginia Brown, and brothers; Landon Adair and Robert Adair.
His parents preceded him in death as well as his wife Jessie Mangum Adair.
Funeral services were at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Downtown Chapel in St. Johns at 11 a.m. on Aug. 12. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Jewkes Mortuary in St. Johns was in charge of arrangements.
