Margaret Ann "Peg" Barnes Allcott, wife, mother, and grandmother, age 77, passed away Oct 15, 2000 in Salt Lake city, Utah.
She was born July 23, 1923 in New York City to Howard J. and Gladys Liggett Ott. Attended Blue Ridge College in Maryland. Moved to Salt Lake in 1956, with her first husband, Donald C. Barnes, deceased. Married Gordon A. Allcott Dec 6, 1972. Volunteer for the American Red Cross as a First Aid, Lifesaving, and Swimming Instructor, and served three years as the Director of volunteers. National Ski Patrol member at Brighton, Solitude, and Park City. She was an avid skier, fly fisher, and outdoors woman. She worked at Alta Ski area for many years. She served in the Altar Guild and sang in the choir as a member of the episcopal Church, also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon of Sandy; two sons, Charles R. (Emily) Barnes, Uniontown, PA and Bruce H. (Cynthia) Barnes, Midway, UT;grandchildren, Shelley, Andrew, and Sarah;six step-children and 25 step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct 19, 2000 at 12 noon in the St. James Episcopal Church, 7486 South Union Park Ave. Midvale Utah, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Funeral director Larkin Mortuary.
