Ellen I. Beach
Ellen I. Beach was born at Barnard, Kansas July 14, 1886 and passed away unexpectedly at her home in Douglas on Oct. 13, 1962. She was 76 years of age.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Beach at Udell, Iowa on Feb. 26, 1908 and that same year moved to the LaPrele area where they engaged in ranching until about two years ago, when Mr. Beach's health began for fail, and they moved to Douglas to make their home. Mr. Beach preceded his wife in death on Aug. 16 of this year.
Mrs. Beach was a member of the Methodist church and the LaPrele Homemakers club in which she was an active and devoted worker.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Alice Nunn, Douglas, and Mrs. Afton Sears, Bend, Oregon; A brother Raymond King of Ottuma, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Schaefer, Casper; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A son, Kenneth died in the service of his country in World War II.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Octover 6, at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Edgar Hoffman officiating. Pall bearers were Harold Hardesty, Buzz Philbrick, Art Howard, W.J.Wesnitzer, Irving Carlson and Richard Burks.
Burial was in Douglas Park cemetery.
