Nov. 6, 1921 Redondo Beach Los Angeles County California, USA
The son of a John or Michael Bohen and Hanorah Kennedy, Martin immigrated to the U.S. before 1870, allegedly as a stowaway. He settled as a farmer in Nebraska, where he met Michael and Harriett Mason. Family legend has it that when Michael was dying, he asked Harriett to marry their neighbor Martin. On January 29, 1876 in St. John's Catholic Church, Columbus, Nebraska, Father James M. Ryan married Martin and Harriett. They later moved to Southern California, where Martin retired from farming. They lived in Redondo Beach for many years before passing away.
