George, son of Henry and Henrietta Stawicki Brykalski, was unmarried when he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1941 before W.W.II started. He was a Warrant Officer and co-pilot on the B-17 "Sunny" when it was shot down over Paris. After the war his remains were brought home and buried at Jefferson Barracks along with the remains of radioman T/Sgt. Robert McKnight who died in the same crash, explosion and fire.
