Mrs. Willie Ellen Barlow (Memommie): Services for Mrs. Willie Ellen Barlow, 96, will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Edwin Davis, assisted by Rev. Darrell Cooper. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive guests on Friday evening between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Barlow was born on Aug. 9, 1910 in Longstreet, La., to parents Louis Haston and Ida Rebecca Brown. She was surrounded by family and friends when she went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 9, 2007. Mrs. Barlow had been a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Princeton, and was a Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer for many years. She loved her family, church, gardening and her roses. She retired in 1976 from The Children's Clinic on Line Avenue after 30 years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Barlow was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil F. Barlow; sons, Leslie R. Barlow and James A. Barlow; brothers, Perry A. Brown and H.F. "Toad" Brown; sister, Jonnie McHaffey; eight half-brothers; and great-granddaughter, Anna Elizabeth Frazier. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and William Frazier; daughter-in-law, Alexandra Barlow Simms; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step great-grandsons; and one great-great-grandon.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Barnette for many years of living care and, also, to Dr. Ted Warren and Southern Care Hospice.
