Doris S. Elliott, 75, of Loleta, died at a Fortuna hospital following a short illness. She was born in Atwater, California, and had lived in the Ferndale-Loleta area for the past 65 years. She was the daughter of Ella S. Gish and her second husband, Wilson Edmund Elliott, Sr.
She was a member of the Pacific Rebekah Lodge 266 of Loleta, Eastern Star of Ferndale, Fortuna Monday Club and the Los Amigos Club of Loleta.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothea Elliott of Loleta; three nephews, Elliott Shaffer of Loleta, Dr. Stanley Shaffer of Sunnyvale, and Keith Shaffer of Santa Cruz and one niece, Mrs. Mildred Peterson of Woodland.
Funeral services were held in the Citizens' Mortuary in Ferndale with the Rev. Kenneth Samuelson officiating. Interment followed in the Ferndale Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ray Robinson, Melvin Martin, Rollin Boynton, Raymond Olsen, Louis Howerton and Clarence Winters.
