Daughter of William Henry and Harriet (Osborn) Gray.
Ethel died in Harmony Township.
'The Weekly Telephone', Milton Junction, Wisconsin, Thursday, May 3, 1900, p 4.
Ethel E. Gray was born in Johnstown, Wis., Dec. 16, 1880 and died after an illness of only two days at her home in Harmony, April 27, 1900, at the age of 19 years, 4 months and 11 days. She was possessed of a cheerful, kind and loving disposition, which made itself felt in the home and to those to whom she was most intimately associated. From early childhood she suffered from an affliction which kind loving care or the best trained medical skill failed to remove. This only endeared her more closely, if possible, to the family circle. On account of the careful, thoughtful attention which was necessarily bestowed upon her, and when the dear mother who was her constant companion, and with whom we trust she is now re-united, was taken away a year and a half ago, it seemed as if the friends and neighbors extended to Ethel still deeper love and sympathy. She will be most sadly missed in the home circle and more so on account of the constant care and thoughtful attention which she solicited from every member of the family. We can only bow our heads in submission to the Divine will and say with one of old: 'The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.'
The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at the home of her father, Henry Gray, and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. The burial was by the side of her mother in North Johnstown cemetery.
