OCEAN SPRINGS -- James McConnell Anderson, 90, of Ocean Springs died Friday, April 3, 1998, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Anderson was a native of New Orleans and a longtime Coast resident. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs and a well known decorator, designer and artist at Shearwater Pottery in Ocean Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Walter and Annette McConnell Anderson; and two brothers, Peter and Walter Inglis Anderson.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Lemon Anderson of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Adele Anderson Lawton and her husband, Timothy, of Ocean Springs and Sara Margaret Cockrell and her husband, Robert, of Arlington, Texas; and six grandchildren, Anne Elizabeth Anderson of Austin, Texas, Michael, Amy, John, Sophia and Sara Cockrell, all of Arlington, Texas.
Mac will be gratefully remembered for his gentle strength and constant character, as well as the legacy of his art by eight nieces and nephews and their families and many friends.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 1998, at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Private graveside services will be held in Evergreen Cemetery.
Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs is in charge of arrangements.
