She was born July 9, 1936 to the late William Thomas Bowen, Sr. and the late Eula Moore Bowen in Alma, Georgia. She was the widow of the late Richard Locke Bolen. She was a member of Lakewood United Methodist Church in Jacksonville. She is survived by her three sons, William Locke Bolen, Brian Keith Bolen and Charles Kevin Bolen; daughters-in-law, Melissa Bolen, Erin Bolen and Melody Bolen; brother, Roy Daniel Bowen; sister, Betty J. Goodrich, sisters-in-law, Peggy Bowen and Jeanne Smith; 5 grandsons and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 6133 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday January 6, 2011 at 11:00am.
