Francis was the ninth of eleven children born to George Washington Sr. and Lucy Mae (Rimmer) Stewart. She married Graham Bennie Lippard and they had two children: Janice and Bennie Wayne.

Frances Stewart Lippard, 70, of the 200 block of Lakeside Drive, died Nov. 5, 1993, in her residence.
Mrs. Lippard, a native of Statesville, N.C., was a Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Graham B. Lippard; one daughter, Janice Lippard Black of Suffolk; one son, Bennie Wayne Lippard of Smithfield; three sisters, Helen S. Teaster, Betty S. Sherrill and Vera S. Moose, all of Statesville, N.C.; two brothers, Don P. Stewart of Lenoir, N.C., and Tiller E. Stewart of Statesville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
