George was born the 2nd child of Dr. Henry Lightbourne and [Isa]Bella Angel Bawden in Davenport, Scott, IA. George became a medical doctor and practiced with his father, Dr. Henry Lightbourne Bawden.
He married Judith M. Holstrom, nurse from Chicago working at St. Luke's Hospital (now Genesis East). She divorced him 29 Aug 1907 for disertion 1 month earlier on 27 July.
George married Anna Elizabeth Seibel dtr of John Henry and Charlotte Loehter Seibel of Pleasant Valley, Scott County, IA (German immigrants).
George served in the army during WWI and returned to Davenport to resume his practice until 1920 when he and the family (2 sons) left. They lived many years in Jasper, Natrona, WY. He died in Springfield, Lane, OR where he and the family lived at 404 N. 19th St. They were members of Hope Lutheran Church and he was a member of Springfield American Legion.
They had 2 sons: Lee George b 9 Dec 1909 in Davenport, d. 26 Feb 1971 in Alameda, CA (SSDI); Henry Stephen b 3 May 1912 in Davenport, SS# issued in Oregon, had 1 yr high school, enlistment record said 70" tall and 133 lbs. d 26 July 1984. He lived with his parents at the time of his father's death.
