Frances E. McCorkle, 87, died Saturday, September 1 in Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. She was born March 19, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Vera (Noble) Warrick. On September 30, 1930, she married Howard I. McCorkle who preceded her in death.
Mrs. McCorkle lived all of her life in Rush County. She was a member of East Street Christian Church in Carthage where she served as secretary of the Christian Women's Fellowship for 18 years. She was active in the Carthage Sewing Club, a homemaker, excellent seamstress and also enjoyed crocheting, quilting and crafts.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna J. (DelMonte) Wagner of Arlington; two brothers, Charles Warrick of Corydon, and Forrest Warrick of Brownsburg; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, two daughters Norma Jean and Janet Carol McCorkle preceded her in death.
Services will be held Wednesday (today) at Todd Funeral Home, Carthage Chapel with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial will be in Town Cemetery, Carthage.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 4 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Street Christian Church or the donors favorite charity.
