SERVICES FOR DONALD NELSON HELD IN CALIFORNIA
A Memorial Service for Donald LeRoy Nelson, 67, of Yorba Linda, CA was held Friday, May 7th at 7 p.m. in the Richfield Community Church/EV Free, in Yorba Linda.
Mr. Nelson went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2004.
Born April 8, 1937, in Johnsonburg, he was the son of the late Roy and Genevieve Nelson. He was married to his wife Marilyn for 46 years, who survives.
He was a 1955 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. While growing up, Donald along with his brothers Richard and Robert worked in Nelson's Yellow & Black Grocery Store. He later owned and operated the grocery store and Nelson' Jewelers.
An awesome mechanic, he and four sons owned and operated Ambassador Automotive for 33 years. He loved Jesus, his family, flying, old cars, barbershop quartets and gospel music.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, Dan, Ken, Tim, John and Mark; two daughters Sheila and Shirley, twelve grandchildren, two brothers Richard Nelson of Kane and Robert Nelson of Ishpeming, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons International or The American Cancer Society.
