Margaret Lea Graves was the daughter of William and Mary Wilson Lea. She married Charles Iverson Graves on November 10, 1862, in Caswell County, North Carolina. They had five children, Charles Iverson, Jr., William Lea, Mary Hinton, Robert William, and Anne Parke.

Mrs. Margaret Lea Graves, widow of the late Charles I. Graves, died suddenly yesterday morning at her residence, 405 First Avenue.
Mrs. Graves was born at Leasburg, N.C., June 28th, 1840, and was in her eightieth year. She was married in 1862 to Charles I. Graves, who died in 1896. Mrs. Graves is survived by three living children, Mrs. M.B. Wellborn of Atlanta, and W.L. and Robert W. Graves of this city, and by twenty living grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held from St. Peter's Church, Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Mrs. Graves' eight grandsons will act as pallbearers: Messrs. Bryant Graves, Ross Cox, Robert Graves, Walter Wellborn, Sproull Graves, William Wellborn, Charles and Creswell Graves. Interment will be at Myrtle Hill Cemetery beside her husband.
