He served in Company (G), Regiment (D), 18th Mississippi Calvary for the Confederate States of America.
He enlisted the Spring of 1863 under General Nathan Bedford Forest, and was in the " Battle of Guntown" (better know by Historians as the Battle of Brices Crossroads), and " Forest's raid into Memphis".
He surrendered at Mobil, and marched from Mobil to Columbus, Mississippi.
