"Henry Bernarte, 63, 3205 Weaver Lane, Lafayette, died at St. Anthony's Health Care Center, Lafayette, at 2:45 a.m. July 1, 1991, having been in ill health for at least the past two years. He was born near Fowler, Benton County, February 3, 1928, the son of Carl and Rosie B. Jackson Bernarte.
He had lived most of his life in Attica and had lived in Lafayette for the past three years. He had attended the Winthrop School. He had formerly worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company, Attica; the Wabash Railroad and also at the Pete Moss Plant at Otterbein; his last employment being the Tippecanoe School Corporation in Lafayette. He was a member of the new Hope Baptist Church, Attica, and had attended Schuyler Avenue Wesleyan Church in Lafayette.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sandy L. Bernarte, Paducah, Kentucky; Henry L. Bernarte, McRae, Georgia; a dear friend, Eva Weaver, Lafayette; three brothers, Frank Bernarte, Staunton, David Bernarte, Veedersburg, Everett Bernarte, Route 2, Attica; two sisters, Allie Bernarte, Route 2, Attica, and Isabelle Bernarte, Oxford.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica with clergymen, the Rev. Tom Schmid, the Rev. Oscar Jones and the Rev. Robert Carpenter officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica." – Star Tribune, Attica, Indiana, July 2, 1991 & July 5, 1991
