THE PARIS NEWS, Aug. 18, 2003: Ester Lee Goad, 95, of Paris died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, in Christus St. Joseph's Hospital South. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Gene Roden's Sons Chapel with the Rev. Othoe Stegall as proposed officiant. Interment will be in Crittenden Memorial Cemetery in West Memphis, Ark. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Howland to DeWitt T. and Florence Whitaker Jumper. She married Homer Lamar Goad Jan. 9, 1926, in Paris. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1958. She was a member of the Church of God in Paris. Survivors include two sisters, Alvana (Coker) Freeman of Paris and Rita Mae Shook of Paris; and two brothers, Ray Jumper of Paris and Ralph Jumper of Lubbock.
