New York, USA
|Death: ||Feb. 11, 1898|
There were 18 Carters living in Tuolumne County in 1900, two years after Josephine's death.
I had difficulty connecting her to the Free family. However, Josephine must have been related to Miner Free because his name is also on her headstone. Since Miner's mother's maiden name was Hanks, Josephine may have been an aunt or distant cousin.
Miner's name is also on the headstone of his wife, Mary.
Josephine was a native of New York. She passed away from pneumonia at the age of 75.
The mortuary records list her as Josephen A. Carter.
