Edgar Allen Devin was the oldest son of Bernard and Kathryn (Mitchell) Devin, who was apparently named after his uncle, Edgar Allen. He was born in Cleves or Louisville, Ohio near Cincinnati and grew up in Omaha, Nebraaska.
He is mentioned in the book "David and Margaret Mitchell: emigrants of Ulster, Ireland to America in 1763" as being a machinist and expert chauffer; and his death certificate lists him as a retired contractor.
Edgar married Alice Stewart of Alabama and lived in Memphis, Tennessee for 55 years. Their daughters were Margarette and Mary (or Millie).
