NOTE: The name "Hughes" (appearing here as her father's middle name) has been in the family for several generations. However, there is an alternate name of "Hampton" that sometimes causes confusion.

Cause of death is peritonitis from appendicitis.


When "Frankie" passed away on 15 June 1913 in Kearney, Clay County, Missouri, her family and close friends attended her. Her son Thomas Shelton Brown and his wife Visa Simms Brown lived nearby in Kearney, MO. Thomas Shelton attested to "Frankie's" cause of death on the Missouri State Board of Health Certificate of Death. Also, her neighbor and doctor, Dr. Haynie Rowell, attended her and attested to her cause of death on the Death Certificate. Dr. Haynie Rowell (born about 1861) and his wife Mrs. Della Rowell (born about 1862) lived close by "Frankie" in Kearney, MO.

This married couple share the same gravesite and same grave marker.
