| Birth: | Nov. 19, 1927, USA | | Death: | Feb. 7, 2003, USA |  "Jack" Allsbrook was a native of Rocky Mount, born to the late Robert Lee Allsbrook, and Pearl Allsbrook Green. A 1947 graduate and outstanding athlete of Rocky Mount Senior High, Jack was recognized by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association as an "Unsung Hero" for the support he gave to high school athletics by operating the score board at Rocky Mount Senior High home football games for the last 40 years. As a member of the 1951 class of Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College), and star athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, Jack was inducted into the School's Athletic Hall of Fame in 1993 for his generous contribution of athletic skill and integrity during his years there. Between high school and college, he served his country in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. Jack was known for his dedication, hard work, and for being a man of word. It was said of him, that "giving was his style." He first worked for Swift and Co., followed by 30 years in management with Sears, Roebuck and Co., before retiring in 1987. He then went on to become facilities administrator at Grace Covenant Church, where he was a member and served as a deacon. Later, he assumed the position of interim administrator of Carrolton Nursing Home facilities. He was a faithful and devoted father and husband. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Walsh Allsbrook. He was 76.
