During the late 1950's Myrth and this contributor were crew members of the USS Talbot County (LST 1153) at the same time, both as members of the Operations Division of this ship. Myrth was aboard from about 1957, and completed his Naval service as a Yeoman 3rd class (aka YN3) with duties as a ships clerk and a rating of a Third Class Petty Officer. He left the ship for separation from active duty on August 28, 1959. He died at 53 years, 5 months, and 6 days of age, cause unknown to this contributor. His only surviving family member, that I'm aware of, is a sister who is believed to live in the Denver, Colorado area.
