Verlia Mae Conerly, 80, of McComb, died Sept. 11, 2010, at her residence.
Visitation is 1 p.m. today at Central Baptist Church until services at 3. The Rev. Gary Watkins and the Rev. Randall Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, with Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home of McComb in charge.
Mrs. Conerly was born Dec. 24, 1929, in Spring Creek, La. She was the daughter of Vernon and Fanny Pritchard Varnado.
She retired as manager of a convenience store. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a 35-year survivor of breast cancer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lee Conerly; two brothers, Hollis and Stanley Varnado; four sisters, Nina Smith, Faye Brumfield, Lois Strickland, and Gladys "Tincey" Allen.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rodrick and Caroline Conerly of Prairieville, La., and Terry Conerly of McComb; one daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Jackie Boyd of McComb; a brother and sister-in-law, Gaylon and Linda Varnado; grandchildren and spouses, Melissa Pine and Greg, Gary Conerly and Kay, Julie Badon and Darrin, Dawn Barron and Adam, Kari Baker and Clay; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Givens, Randall Allen, James Brumfield, Lance Varnado, Derrel Allen and Phil Brumfield. Honorary pallbearer will be Glen Brumfield.
