SUDDEN DEATH

Minden Loses One of Its Most Prosperous Business Men - He Passes Away With But a Few Moments Warning.

Minden and the surrounding community was severely shocked Tuesday morning by the announcement that one of its leading citizens, Victor Abrahamson, had been suddenly stricken down in death. Vic. had been at work on Monday in the bank as usual, in the afternoon being somewhat tired out by hard work, and being up nights with a sick child he left his work and went home. At the usual hour he retired for the night but was soon taken sick and at three o'clock in the morning the end came. Mr. Abrahamson was one of the leading business men of this city and county. He took a keen interest in every movement that went toward building up the town and for the betterment of its people. In politics he was by some called radical, but no man can say aught against him on account of unfair or dishonest political methods. He was one of the early settlers of the county and was engaged in mercantile business with his uncle, Otto Abrahamson, in Minden when it was but a burg. When Mr. Dickman was elected county clerk he appointed Mr. Abrahamson his deputy, this position he held four years, afterward accepting a position in the office of the Commissioner of Public Lands and Buildings at Lincoln which he held until he returned to Minden to accept the responsible of cashier of the First National Bank. Here he continued his labors for the interest of the institution that employed him and through his untiring efforts the Bank was brought up to a high standing as a financial institution.

We might continue in this line to considerable length but think it unnecessary to add more than that in his death, coming as it does in the very prime of life, the community loses one of its most valued and worthy members, his family a kind father and faithful husband. His remains will be taken to the Swedish cemetery near Axtell for interment.
