Joseph Elliott Antram was the son of John Thomas Antram and Sarah Grimes and the grandson of William Antram and his wife,Maria Holloway and Joseph Grimes and his wife, Francis Anna Klingaman.

He was very close to his cousin, Harry Carl Antram and perhaps because of the wide difference in their ages, Joe looked upon Carl, (Charlie as he was known by friends)
as a son. He referred to him as one of "his boys". When Carl married Lillian Headlee, Joe took them into his home and they remained with him until after their two daughters were born. One of the daughters is my mother. Mom remembers Joe quite fondly and she tells me of how, after they moved from his home, he would visit them and have candy stashed in his pockets for the girls to rummage through. I always smile when I picture this kindhearted man.

Per the obituary dated 8 JULY 1934, Joseph died at age 63. A native of Alliance, OH, he died in Akron, OH on 6 JULY 1934 at home after a long illness.

He was an instructor in Latin at Central High school of Akron, having lived in that city for 32 years. He was a graduate of Alliance High school, Mount Union College and the University of Michigan.

He was a member of the Methodist church. At the time of his death, he was survived by his brother, Charles W. Antram of North Georgetown, OH. His funeral service was conducted on Monday, 9 JULY 1934 at 3:30pm at Beechwood United Brethren church in the charge of Rev. Jester of Akron and Rev W. W. Moody.

Burial was made at Beechwood Cemetery.
