Waco's Oldest Resident Dies

I. Adams, 107, Who Had Resided in This City for at Least 75 years, was born in Russia.

I. Adams, 107 years old, Waco's oldest resident and probably the oldest person in this part of the state, died Thursday night at 9:15 at his home, 812 North Fourth street.

Mr. Adams passed away suddenly, having been active all the later years of his life until Wednesday, when he became suddenly ill. He was born in Russia, but it could not be learned just when he came to the United States. He had lived in Waco at least 75 years, though the definite length of his residence was not known by relatives.

Mr. Adams was in active business until the age of 90, when he retired. He operated for several years a soda water wagon in the days when horse drawn vehicles were more numerous than automobiles. He read and wrote without the aid of glasses and never owned a pair in his life.

He is survived by seven children, and a conservative estimate of his descendants was placed by relatives at 135. He is survived by several great-great-grandchildren.
Surviving children are Mrs. Bess Resnich of Watertown, Wis.; Mrs. Abe Novich and Mrs. Louis Gorin of Waco, Daniel Adams of Waco, Mose Adams of Tulse, Okla., Mrs. Max Goldberg of Fort Worth, and Mrs. J. Gollob of Houston.

Funeral services, in charge of Wilkirson-Hatch, will be held Sunday, definite arrangements not yet completed.

Pallbearers will be J. M. Rosenberg, A. Rubinsky, I. Chodorow, Isador Ellis, Barney Goldberg, J. Greenspan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Aubrey Goodman, L. Levy, S. Genecov, Herman Levy, L. Genecov, Abe Rosenberg, Abe Berlowitz, S. Chazanow, I. Genecov, L. Lipshitz, Joe Snaman, Abe Berkman, Sidney Haber, Jack Sanger, A. Ruble, L. Fred, B. Levinson, L. Goodman, Z. Hoppenstein, Max Siegel, A. Werner, Max Hoppenstein, Morris Rubinsky, F.
