Daughter of John Robinson and Rebecca Barteau, wife of David Wells Howell and mother of Herbert Wells, Richard S., Mary Emma "Mamie" (married Walter Thursby Elliott), Justin R., and John Abner Howell.
Obituary - East Moriches- Mrs. Sarah Howell died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Elliott of Eastport last Wednesday, following a week's illness from pneumonia at the age of 82 years.
Mrs. Howell was well known by all, having conducted the Howell House for summer boarders for many years. Several years ago, the house was cut in half and rented by city friends for the summer months.
Besides the above daughter, Mrs. Howell is survived by a son, Herbert Howell of Connecticut, and a number of grandchildren, also a sister, Mrs. Gordon of Center Moriches.
Largely attended funeral services were held at the home of her daughter on Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. O.R.W. Klose of the Presbyterian Church and interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
