Norma L. Baker
COLFAX -- Norma L. Baker, 79, of Colfax died at 4:37 p.m. Tuesday (March 2, 2004) at her residence.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Saybrook. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the memorial home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.
She was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Saybrook, to Homer M. and Lena Ward Kinsell. She married Claud W. Baker June 4, 1945, in Saybrook. He died Aug. 14, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna Baker and Joann Sandage, both of Colfax; a son, Bruce (Valerie) Baker, Spokane Valley, Wash.; special friend and niece, Bonnie (Robert) Hill, Saybrook; three brothers, James (Janice) Kinsell, Austell, Ga.; M. Dwayne (Jean) Kinsell, Saybrook; and Homer Dean (Helen) Kinsell, Normal; sister-in-law, Winnie Kinsell, Jacksonville; five grandchildren, Dena Poppe, Darci (Mike) Kirwin, Brock Baker, Cleve Sandage and Lindsey (Rob) Hale; and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, one sister and grandson, Jason Baker, preceded her in death.
Ms. Baker had been employed at Echo Products, Chicago, during World War II; later had served as a deputy sheriff in McLean County; more recently had been employed at Protein Plus Labs, Colfax.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Colfax; Never Too Old Club; Food Share Program; and American Legion Auxiliary, Colfax; and former member and past board member of Indian Springs Country Club, Saybrook.
Ms. Baker enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, watching basketball and her family and friends
