Pete was born at Woodruff, Utah on July 28, 1913, to Edward and Margret Eve Cameron Cornia. He spent all his childhood at Woodruff. He attended the Woodruff grade school and South Rich High School. Pete enlisted in the army February 20, 1941 at Fort Douglas, Utah and completed his training at Fort Lewis, Washington. By then the second World War had started and on November 2, 1942 he was sent to the European theater. He was a T/5. He served in the following battles and campaigns: Rome, Arno, Southern France, Rhinland, Central Europe, Sicily, Germany and Africa. He received the following decorations and citations: European African Middle Eastern service medal, African Defense service medal, good conduct medal. He was a truck driver and expert rifleman. He was honorably discharged October 6, 1945. After returning from the service Pete went to work for his brother-in-law Air Hahn at Blackfoot, Idaho in a garage. On March 14, 1947, Pete married Mae Eastman in Evanston, Wyoming. They are the parents of five children: Dixie Lee, Dasie Mae, Farley Peter, Cloyd Layne and Larry Edward. They spent all of their married life in Woodruff except for 1953-54 when they lived in Blackfoot, Idaho.
