Melva Chambless , 87, of Spurger, passed away, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Silsbee Oaks Health Care in Silsbee, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, with burial in Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Visitation was held on Friday, September 23rd, from 5:00 -9:00 p.m.

Melva was born October 17, 1923, in Doucette, Texas. Her parents were Sam & Mary Wright. She was a lifelong resident of Tyler County and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Lee Chambless; her son, Lester Wayne Chambless; and great grandson, Conner Rothenberger.
