Mary was the daughter of Joseph and Rosa Nagy, Hungarian immigrants. She had an older sister named Maragret and two half brothers, Ernest and Paul Kish.
Mary first married Lonis Hammond "Dick" Brown (1921 - 1979), my Great Uncle. They divorced in 1964. In 1968, she married Victor Watson and they were married until her death, after a battle with cancer.
Mary was my Great Aunt.
Mary E. Watson, 69, of Colorado Springs died Jan. 29, 1993 at a local hospital. She was a homemaker.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Tuessday at Shrine of Rememberance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. A Vigil service will be at 7 pm Tuesday at Shrine's America the Beautiful Chapel. The funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 am Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Security, with the Rev. Patrick Battiato officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 1001 S. Hancock Ave. Shrine of Rememberance is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Watson was born March 21, 1923 in Hammond, LA, to Joseph and Rosa Nagy
She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1954 and also lived in Kentucky.
She was a charter member of the Catholic Daughter of Holy Family Catholic Church, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxilary Post 38 and Holy Family Catholic Church.
Mrs. Watson was married June 1, 1971, in Colorado Springs to Victor W. Watson Jr., who survives.
She also is survived by two sons, Lonis Brown of Eureka, MT, and Alan Brown of Fort Collins; a daughter, Cheryl Wallace of Colorado Springs; and seven grandchildren.
