Manzie Fusco. aged 28, of 867 Seventeenth street, this city,died at Community hospital, Somerset, of Injuries suffered when he crashed his big car through the fence while driving in the Labor day automobile race at the Jennerstown speedway.
Fusco conducted a cigar store and poolroom at Eighth avenue and Ninth street and was enthusiastic over automobile racing. This was his first year in driving a race car and in the Jennerstown event be was driving Dodge special for M. Fennelle of this city. He was entered in the main event of the day, a 75 mile event.
The accident was witnessed by his brother, Dan Fusco, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Benall, a brother-in-law and sister, and Miss Grace Fusco, another sister. They notified their parents of the accident. Mrs. Mary Fusco, his mother, and a sister, Mrs. Angelia Derose, went to his bedside Monday night, and were with him when he died.
