Beatrice Hope (Harris) Crum, 92 of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away at 3:34 pm Friday, February 7, 2014 in Millers Merry Manor, Wakarusa where she had resided since March 2009 following a stroke.

Born on May 15, 1921, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Earl R. and Edith S. (Sickler) Harris of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Elmhurst High School, Waynedale, Indiana, in 1939 and was united in marriage November 29, 1942 to John H. Crum, who passed away June 16, 2008. She was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Beatrice loved music, playing the snare drum in high school and the marimba throughout her adult years. In 2007, she was privileged to donate the marimba to a church in Goshen, Indiana. She had a beautiful alto singing voice and especially loved church hymns.

A resident of Warsaw since 1954, she worked in many capacities including child care, seasonal work at Winona Lake to open the summer residences, John's "right hand person" while he owned/operated Crum Garage, kitchen prep/server at the Shrine building and finally, seventeen years as laundry supervisor at Grace Village Healthcare.

During her years at Miller's Merry Manor, Wakarusa, she was initially known for her love of putting together jigsaw puzzles and watching all of the activities in the parking lot from the window of her room. She had a beautiful smile for all, a gentle, loving spirit and strong hugs for ALL!

She is survived by daughters Nancy VanKovering of Winona Lake and Joyce (and spouse Noel) Hislope of Elkhart and a son Keith (and spouse Jan) Crum of Fort Wayne, seven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
