Fredonia Censor. Chautauqua County, NY
16 May 1848
Near Alexandria, Wilson Co., Tenn., April 30, (Sunday afternoon) Susan, wife of Co. E.F. DOULGASS, and daughter of Capt. J. SPRAGUE of this village, aged 23.
Thus has departed, "Is the communion of the church, in the confidence of a certain faith, and in the comfort of a reasonable, religious, and holy hop." One beloved by a large circle of relatives and friends is this village. Her memory will be cherished among us, as one of those "The gentle ones, and weakly, Who the cross of suffering bore, Folded their pale hands so nicely, Spoke with us on earth no more."
We understand that the brethren of the Odd Fellow's Lodge, to which Co. D. belongs, have sent a deputation to meet and aid him in the sad task of bringing home her remains for interment, and that the funeral will be attended at Trinity Church, on Wednesday, 2 o'clock pm – com
