John "Jack" Curry Jones, 45, Eldora, formerly of Lake City, died Monday, June 8, 1992 of natural causes at the Eldora Regional Medical Center in Eldora. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10 at the United Methodist Church in Eldora with Rev Gordon Watson officiating. Interment was made in the Eldora Cemetery.
John "Jack" Curry Jones, son of Emris and Muriel Curry Jones was born September 14, 1946 in Lake City. John graduated from the Lake City Community Schools in 1965. He then attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, graduating in 1967; University of Northern Iowa, graduating in 1970 with a double major in English and Physical Education; and received his Maters in Physical Education from University of Northern Iowa in 1979. John was formerly married to Elaine Williams. He moved to Eldora in 1971 where he had been employed with the Iowa State Training School for Boys. John was a cottage parent, physical education instructor and for the last five years had taught English and Health. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Eldora, the Monthague Lodge No. 117 – A.F. & A.M. of the Masons in Eldora, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, Correctional Educations Association, National Rifleman's Association, Pine Lake Wildlife Club and the Black Hawk Shooters Club.
Preceding him in death were his father and half brother, Robert. Survivors include his daughter, Angie of Iowa Falls; mother, Muriel Jones of Lake City; brother Alan Jones of Sycamore, Illinois; a half sister, Susan Duffy of Littleton Colorado and long time friend Carol Magoon of Eldora
