Served in Company B 2nd Iowa Infantry during the Civil War.
Wife: Samantha A. Wells.
According to family and pension records: Harlow and his brother Edwin served together during Sherman's infamous march through the south. His wounds indicated he was moving away from his shooter when he was shot in the back. Edwin apparently made it through the war unscathed.
