His headstone says he was born in 1843 and died in 1917; the web site for the Minnesota State Historical Society shows his date of death as 1/27/1916. Family records indicate he was born on 11/26/1842.
Served in Company B 2nd Iowa Infantry during the Civil War.
Wife: Samantha A. Wells.
According to family and pension records: Harlow and his brother Edwin served together during Sherman's infamous march through the south. His wounds indicated he was moving away from his shooter when he was shot in the back. Edwin apparently made it through the war unscathed.
