Harry M. Estes, 87, of Fulton died Monday, May 19, 1997, at the Fulton Manor Care Center.
He was born January 8, 1910, in Callaway County, a son of the late Morie M. and Minnie May (Garrett) Estes. He married Bessie Ann Hawkins on September 15, 1935. She preceeded him in death on May 4, 1993.
Suvivors include two sons, Randy Estes of Fulton and Larry Estes of Osage City, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Edward "Ed" Estes.
Mr. Estes was a Fulton businessman for many years, having owned and operated Harry's Cafe and Estes Hardware.
He also worked at the Fulton State Hospital prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church.
Services will be Thursday, May 22, 1997 at 2:00pm at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Chaplain Jack Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetary in Fulton.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 1997 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church or to the Fulton Manor Care Center in Fulton.

Harry M. Estes has purchased the Dean Cafe in the Fulton Theater building and will take charge of the business Monday, December 5.
George Dean, who has been operating the café and a taxi business in connection, will continue in the taxi business for the present.
Mr. Estes, the new owner, has been with the Piggly Wiggly Store in Fulton for twelve years. He is the brother of Ed H. Estes, who operates the Estes Cafe on East 5th Street across from the Shoe Factory.
