Mrs. Frank Ahmann, 61, a life long
resident of Remsen, died Tuesday night
in a Sioux City hospital.
Mrs. Ahmann was born in Remsen, November
22, 1892 to Frank and Minnie E.(Lilly)
Wengler. The former Genevieve Wengler
was married to Frank Ahmann, Jr. March
7, 1916 in St. Mary's Church in Remsen,
Survivors are the widower and two sons,
LeRoy Ahmann at home and Donald Ahmann
of Napa, Calif.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m.
Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Frank Ahmann, 61, lifelong Remsen
woman died in St. Joseph's Mercy hospital,
Sioux City, Tuesdsay night, Mar. 16.
She had been in failing health for about
four months and was admitted to the hospital
Born Nov. 22, 1892, on a farm one mile
northwest of Remsen, she was the only
child of the late Frank and Minnie
Wengler, pioneer Remsen residents.
She was married Mar. 7, 1916, to Frank
Ahmann. The couple lived in Remsen four
years as Mr. Ahmann was employed in the
lumber business, and moved to a farm one
mile north of Remsen in the spring of
1920. They subsequently occupied other
farms and in 1942 bought the farm
immediately northeast of Remsen which
is still the family home.
She was a charter member of Mary of
Lourdes court, Women's Catholic Order
Besides her husband, survivors are two sons:
LeRoy at home and Donald of Napa, Calif.
Mrs. Edward Underriner of Sioux City and
Miss Lilly Stortz of Kingsley are cousins.
Services were in St. Mary's Catholic church
Friday morning at 9 o'clock with interment
in St. Mary's cemetery, Remsen. The body
was at the Fisch Funeral Home.
