At lower Dixie, Sunday morning at 4 o'clock Nov. 7, 1915, Mrs.
Sarah E. Bay aged about 76 years of chronic nephritis.
The funeral services were from the family residence and were
conducted by Rev. Mrs. L. Mendenhall of the Friends church
Tuesday morning. The remains were interred in the Canyon Hill
Cemetery. Sarah Elizabeth Morris was born March 20, 1840, and
was married to Joseph Buffington on June 5,1858, who died in 1902
after 44 years of wedded life. To this union was born 13
children, seven of whom are still living, and were present at her
funeral. They are: Joseph James and Perry N. Buffington, both of
Caldwell; Mrs. J.F. Bay of Sheaville, Oregon, Mrs. Bart Pruett of
Rogers, ID, Mrs. Frank Kelley of Meridian and Mrs. Peter
Kramer of Council. She has 54 grandchildren and 32 great
grandchildren. On July 11, 1907, she was married to Thomas B.
Bay, who survives her. She was converted when 18 years old,
uniting with the United Baptists. At Boise, she joined the
Methodist church and on July 19, 1913, she joined the Society of
Friends, of which church she was a member at the time of her
death. At the time of her death she rounded out 57 years service
for the Master
