JAMES EDWIN WHITE, 79, of Cordova, retired owner of White Shade Company Inc., died of heart disease Sunday at Baptist Memorial Hospital East. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in West Tennessee Veteans Cemetery . He was a World War II veteran and a member of Cherokee Baptist Church. Mr. White, the husband of Catherine P. White, to whom he was married for 53 years, also leaves two daughters, Jamae Zarshenas of Cordova and Sara Collie of Collierville; three sons, James W. White of Memphis, Samuel L. White of Atlanta and Edwin F. White of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Pattie W. Edwards of Valencia, Calif.; two brothers, Sidney White of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Curtis N. White of Memphis, and 10 grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Cherokee Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice. (Published in The Commercial Appealo 7/27/1994)
