PFC US MARINE CORPS
Private First Class Edmunds was a member of Company G, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in Korea on July 24, 1953. Private First Class Edmunds was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
An eyewitness came upon Patrick's body during the Boulder City battle. It appeared that his trench had been overrun earlier in the battle.
Boulder City was the last ground action fought by the Corps in the Korean War.
Patrick was called Dumdum by his comrades in arms for reasons unknown. He almost came home.
