Before her marriage Mrs. Bitting was Miss Mary Deming. She is a member of the Eunice Sterling Chapter D. A. R., Eastern Star, Pioneer Society, Old Settlers' Club and the Wesley Hospital Board. Mr. Bitting is high in masonic circles, and is a member of the Wichita Club. Mr. and Mrs. Bitting were married at the old Tremont Hotel at the corner of Emporia and Douglas Avenues, in 1880. Foote, 400 South Belmont. Born in Pottsdam, New York and came with her family to Arkansas City, in 1874 and to Wichita in 1876. Married Charles W. Bitting here August 10, 1880. Husband died in 1932.
