Born in Blackford County John Lloyd Reasoner was a son of William G. Reasoner and Capitola Dulling Reasoner. He graduated from the Hartford City High School in 1925.
He claimed as his wife, Miss Esther Ford Gable, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Albert and Anna (Ford) Gable, on December 31, 1926 in Hartford City.
John was a widely-known Hartford City auctioneer and had also been employed as a night guard at the Ball Bros. plant at Muncie for five years preceding his death. He lived at 217 South Walnut Street, Hartford City. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
His survivors included: his wife, Esther Ford (Gable) Reasoner; two daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Raymond) Pemberton and Jeannine (Mrs. Gordon) Stinson; one son, John Lloyd Reasoner, Jr.; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Twibell and Mrs. Ruth Kimes; five brothers, Clifford B., Paul, Howard, Arthur and Merrill Reasoner.
His wife, Esther Ford (Gable) Reasoner was a gr-granddaughter of Dr. James and America Ford of Wabash, Indiana.
