Malley Cye Capps, the s/o Samuel and Julia Ann (Andrews) Capps originally from North Caolina, was born on October 18, 1881 in Dallas County, Texas. The 1900 Census of Dallas County showed his name as "Malachi."
Malley and Ethel Potter, the daughter of Watts Potter and Ellen Beers, were married in 1902 in Dallas County, Texas. Ethel (Potter) Capps died on March 5, 1958 in Dallas and Malley died on March 24, 1963. They are both buried in the old Bennett Cemetery in Balch Springs, Texas. This cemetery is now known as Laurel Oaks Memorial Park.

Rites Held for Malley C. Capps
Last rites were conducted Tuesday at the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Chapel for Malley Cye Capps, Sr., who died Sunday at the age of 83. / The Rev. Louis Hodges officiated at the services and burial was in Laurel Oaks Memorial Park. / Mr. Capps was born in Dallas County and had lived in and near Mesquite all his life. He was a farmer. / Surviving Mr. Capps are two daughters, Mrs. Imogene Hawkins and Miss Ruby Capps, both of Dallas; five sons, Malley C. Capps, Jr., and James Lester Capps, both of Dallas, and Calvin Capps, Willard Capps and Milton Capps, all of Mesquite; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
