He enlisted with his father in Sixth Reg. Florida Infantry March 12, 1862 from Quincy, Florida, was hospitalized at Knoxville, October 30 1862, fought in Eastern Tennessee at Lookout Mountain throug h Northern Georgia against Sherman's army attacking to Atlanta, and later with Hood's command. He was paroled at Greensboro, North Carolina May 1, 1865
He is buried next to daughter Bertha and mother Margaretta in Milton's Chapel cemetery near Paige, Bastop County, Texas.
He and his wife were First cousins
He was an elder and trustee of the Milton's Chapel Church and school and involved in the community
Enlisted in Company B, Florida 6th Infantry Regiment on 12 Mar 1862.
Promoted to Full Corporal.
Mustered out on 26 Apr 1865 at Durham Station, NC.
