Funeral Services for Elijah L. Brewer, 76, who died Sunday July 22, at his home on Route 3, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCrary-Waggoner-Edwards Chapel with Rev. Robert C. Ekberg and Rev. Buist Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery. The son of John A. Brewer and Mrs. Martha Tanner Brewer, Mr. Brewer was born November 16, 1885 in Delta County. He had lived in Winnsboro for 44 years. On March 26, 1905 he was married to Miss Myrtle Lee Finch who survives. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Shady Grove Methodist Church. Survivors besides his wife include three sons, Floyd Brewer and Travis Brewer of Winnsboro and Lloyd Brewer of Houston, two daughters, Mrs. Roberta Wooley of Houston and Mrs. Lila Mae Parker of Garland, one brother, Van Brewer of Winnsboro, 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were C.E. Brewer, V.H. Brewer, T.D. Brewer, Tommy Townsend, Grady Brewer, Hollis Brewer, Morris Brewer and Jackie Brewer.
